So what has Cary Grant name to do with him?

He chose it or it chose him!

His last role on stage before joining Paramount was Cary and Grant was chosen from a piece of paper full of names!

Paramount didn't like original names, they named all their actors for limelight profitable names, so before signing the contract he had to change his birth name.

Later he changed his name legally in 1941 when acquiring the full American Citizenship, or as he once said "Everyone wants to be Cary Grant even I want to be Cary Grant!"
